So, I don’t know how many of you know or care, but the Pope is supposed to spend the next five days in the glorious country in which I live. That’s right folks, the Pope is hitting the U.S. in an epic adventure, where I certainly hope he handles some of the negative controversy towards their religion…
Back in March, I wrote the bit about the Catholic Church spending Catholic Church spent $615 million on sexual abuse cases in 2007. Honestly though, even if the Pope does not resolve even half the issues involved, it really wouldn’t put too much of a damper on their existence. Catholic Priests have been molesting their followers for years and years, that shows people in their 60’s to late 70’s standing in protest to the Catholic Church and the Pope.
What an incredibly juicy and controversial piece of TRASH, religion is such a joke. These Priests molest people who have similar beliefs in religion as them, they disrespect their God, disrespect everything they stand for, but when it comes time for them to take responsibility for what they have done, the Pope pays their settlement? THAT IS BULLSHIT. Seriously, if the Pope wants to stand by and let this ridiculousness continue under his ‘roof’ then, why do people continue to be Catholics? Are they brainwashed? Blackmailed? What is the deal?

Referring back to the old article, I love how you criticize the Church as if the focus of everything it does is on praying to God and abusing kids. Don’t get me wrong, what some 4,000 out of over 100,000 priests in the US did over the last 40 or so years is horrible, but if you’re going to try to prove a point, don’t trash the entire religion. I’ve been a Catholic my entire life, and at no time has the Church ever done anything to me or said anything to me that in anyway condoned the abuse. It’s sickening five diocese have now gone bankrupt over this abuse, which doesn’t affect just the abused and priests, but also the millions of Catholics who are in no way tied to the crimes and would at no point in their lives ever think about participating in such activity. While I do blame the church for failing to properly handle the situation, why do you insist on attacking ALL priests and the pope? I guess if I committed a crime in the name of whatever cause you support, you’re to blame too. Under your reasoning, I guess that would make YOU trash.
It’s also interesting that these 10-14 year old boys would willingly drop their pants for priests; I wasn’t that dumb when I was in kindergarten. Is it really abuse or is there more to this? Lastly, in your previous abuse article where you commented about spending money on the abuse and not fighting real issues, please get your facts straight. I would encourage you read up on catholiccharitiesusa.org, or is helping the poor or those in need TRASH too?
Well Chris, I think you have misread because I don’t blame all Priests for the actions of the 4,000 out of 100,000 [I’m not sure where you got your numbers] no way, I wouldn’t dare say that all Priests are molesting pigs… Not everyone is insane… “It’s also interesting that these 10-14 year old boys would willingly drop their pants for priests; I wasn’t that dumb when I was in kindergarten.” Willingly drop trou? Hmm.
Either way, when I write these posts, I write them with how I feel at that moment… Generally they come out way to one side, actually almost always… because I think church-going-bible-huggers are ignorant. As for the “religion is a joke” bit, Catholics are made a joke of when they have those Priests who willingly rape their unwilling followers. All religions make me think of those cults, Warren Jeffs anyone?
And thanks for the link, I’ll remember that the Catholic church is noble in helping poverty and aiding in disaster relief… But when I said trash, I was talking about the stupid fucking pigs raping those young boys who “would willingly drop their pants for priests, not their help with charities…
I agree that the entire Catholic church and it teaching must not be judged as ‘failed’ but the responsibility for implementation remains with clergy and lay people
