Well it is official, Brett Favre has finally quit threatening, and has actually announced his retirement from the NFL after a 17-season stretch. That’s right! Brett Favre of the Greenbay Packers, one of the most well known players, hell, even I know who Favre is, is quitting.
Although, I am not too shocked, he has been teasing us with his retirement for quite some time. That’s okay though, Brett, put your feet up and relax. Have fun being retired!
He retires with 5,377 career completions in 8,758 attempts for 61,655 yards, 442 touchdowns and 288 interceptions.
In his final season, Favre also extended his quarterback-record streak of consecutive regular-season starts to 253 games — illustrating his trademark toughness. Add the playoffs, and Favre’s streak stands at 275.
But Favre finished the season on a sour note, struggling in subzero temperatures in a 23-20 overtime loss to the New York Giants in the NFC championship game.

This advert with Russell Crowe narrating is a little over the top, kind of like they expected nothing else but an easy win. They were WRONG!
The New York Giants have pulled off one of the biggest upsets in National Football League history, defeating the heavily favored New England Patriots, 17-14, to win Super Bowl 42 and deny New England an undefeated season.
Update: Since I completely forgot to put this in earlier, what is Russell Crowe, from Australia, doing the voice over for an American Football advert. Is it that his voice is just that damn good? I mean, I can’t complain really, his voice carries the point well, and I don’t personally think that Chris Rock [no offense Mr. Rock lol] could have done a better job. But any thoughts on this?

With the game in overtime the New York Giant’s Lawrence Tynes kicks a game winning 47-yard field goal. Tonight the Giants played against the Green Bay Packers in a 23-20 score victory to take them to Super Bowl XLIII.
This year the Super Bowl is in Glendale, Arizona, home of the Cardinals. The New England Patriots are undefeated up until this point, so people are expecting another victory under their belts.
If the New England Patriots win the Super Bowl they will become the second team in NFL history to go undefeated. Patriots and their 18-0 season are playing against the Giants who are 13-6. Who are you going to bet on?
