Southwest Airlines Says "Too Sexy" - Kyla Ebbert
by: Stuart

No this is not a Right Said Fred song, this is a national news story about a national airline and Kyla Ebbert’s mini skirt.

Kyla Ebbert gets told off for looking too sexy. First of all, the only thing that is “sexy” is her short skirt but besides that, nothing.

Sure, she is a cute college student with a short skirt but to call her out in-front of the entire plane is just ridiculous. If her pleasure zone was showing and a tit was not hanging out (I wouldn’t be offended at either) but maybe some would, that’s understandable…from a corporate standpoint.

What really gets me is that a single incident gets this much exposure, which I’m helping. It should get exposure because this is a dumb mistake by Southwest Airlines and they should apologize for it.

This clip is from the Today Show and Matt doesn’t have an issue with her attire but wants to ask “could anyone see your, you know, your thing…if they walked down the isle.” He does ask but not as direct as I would have liked.

Sadly, this is big news (Today Show, …everywhere). One thing that big corporations need to understand is the ability for seemingly small news to get blown into national press based on one persons actions.

One action like this can change a brand and it is. Southwest should adopt her outfit as the flight attendant uniform, not that I would want to see that…but would be a good PR move.

i don’t have a problem with it, but i can see how others would, since you can see up the fucking skirt….

  2. #2 POSTED BY Steve, Sep 7th, 2007 8:45 pm

Okay, maybe they could have embarassed her by just issuing a mandatory blanket, but……where the He… are the parents. The skirt is more than a little short! Would you want to sit in the seat after her bare butt hit it, not knowing where it’s been? That picture of her standing was AFTER she pulled “down” her skirt, can you imagine how much fabric was not covering her privates once she sat before pulling it down? What is most upsetting to me is that her parents apparently DON’T have a problem with this. They’ll be the same people suing when she gets sexually harassed, and the same people voting to kill the guy that rapes her. They’d have to be complete idiots to wonder why when it happens. I didn’t mention the top part of her outfit which was also pulled up, how low was it before? And are those real or did her parents foot the bill for fake boobs also? Her parents should be embarassed and willing to fade into the shadows……..

SMOKING HOT, FLY ON MY AIRLINE ANYDAY FOR FREE

  4. #4 POSTED BY Johnny, Sep 7th, 2007 9:53 pm

She’s obviously pulling a fast one on Matt Lauer and the public. I am sure her shirt and skirt weren’t pulled down that far while on the plane. Southwest has every right to have her cover up. By the way, she was never kicked off the plane.

  5. #5 POSTED BY RoRo, Sep 7th, 2007 9:53 pm

Okay, here’s the deal; the male flight attendant was just jealous because he secretly wears outfits like that at home and wishes he could wear that every day to work; the passenger that complained was probably some shot out, “I used to be hot back in the day”, soccer mom, hater, that caught her husband with his tongue on the floor! Get over your problems people and remember what it was like “back in the day” when you were hot and could get away with a sexy outfit like that! She looks good and they were jealous! Kyla, sue their asses just for the principal! Stand up for hot women everywhere and make sure to send this message to haters everywhere: I’m hot, you’re NOT, get OVER IT!

I would love to have the opportunity to tap that twice. Once up north between the twin “fake peaks and than once again down south in the short grassy knoll Holla

She’s Hot! I would pay for her to sit first class with me anytime!!

outrageous behavior on the airline’s part! southwest says they don’t have a dress code. kyla’s outfit is not even as “scandalous” as it could be–cutoffs and a halter top would be more revealing and yet totally allowable. i’ve seen more revealing outfits in church! steve is wrong in that it’s a perfectly ordinary outfit, and how a woman dresses does not excuse rape. austin errs in thinking kyla doesn’t know that wearing a miniskirt shows her panties. and johnny is wrong in allowing anyone the right to judge your appearance without published guidelines. next southwest won’t let me fly because my shirt doesn’t go with my slacks! kyla is hot and a work of art!

  9. #9 POSTED BY Ralph, Sep 7th, 2007 11:38 pm

What? Was she sitting with her legs out toward the aisle?
If not I bet some 350lb jealous female was making an exhorted effort to twist her fat, rolled neck around to leer at her.
Simple rule: Don’t look for things you don’t wanna see. Period.

  10. #10 POSTED BY Geoff, Sep 7th, 2007 11:45 pm

Steve, I can’t believe how ignorant and uninformed your post is. Do you actually think someone who sexually harasses someone is justified based on what the person is wearing. Because that is what you imply with your statement. People who sexually harass someone else deserve to get sued even if the person goes out in public in a see-through string bikini. Get over yourself and wake up.

  11. It looks good on her but what about the men stewards? They would look funny wearing that

  12. #12 POSTED BY Chris B, Sep 8th, 2007 12:10 am

Nothing airlines do these days would surprise me. This was just plain silly. There was nothing wrong with this outfit. I see similar everyday. Judgement is at an all time low with heavy trading.

  13. #13 POSTED BY ADON, Sep 8th, 2007 1:34 am

The flight attendant was just angry because he missed his meeting in the airport bathroom with Senator Larry Craig.

  14. #14 POSTED BY Greg, Sep 8th, 2007 1:35 am

Seems to me there must have been someone who complained to kick this off… seems to me Southwest wouldn’t have just picked this girl out of thin air to harass her like this. Yeah maybe she was wearing what some might consider too revealing - if you force your women to go around in CHADORs, Niqabs and Burqas or some such…

The letter from Southwest suggests yes, some idiot complained.

  15. #15 POSTED BY Ryan, Sep 8th, 2007 1:37 am

    Cheap way to get popularity.

  16. #16 POSTED BY BB, Sep 8th, 2007 2:23 am

whoever handles southwest’s customer service is retarded. and a hypocrite.

sorry, where does it say they can kick people off an airplane just because some jealous b*tch or fundamentalist idiot whines about her outfit?

and in closing: don’t fly southwest.

  17. #17 POSTED BY Holly, Sep 8th, 2007 2:40 am

Wow, that is totally ridiculous. I mean sure, the skirt was short. But it’s no shorter than what millions of other girls and women wear on different occasions. I don’t think I would’ve worn that on a flight, but if she wants to that’s her decision. Bottom line is this: SW airlines has no written policy on dress code and therefore they have no right to threaten (or embarrass) patrons in this way. This is just so stupid. SW should just bite the bullet and apologize or pay her off or something. They acted like dumb@$$es… end of story.

Oh, and someone definitely complained… probably a middle-aged jealous woman whose husband was checking out her legs. Get a life people.

  18. #18 POSTED BY Holly, Sep 8th, 2007 2:41 am

“sorry, where does it say they can kick people off an airplane just because some jealous b*tch or fundamentalist idiot whines about her outfit?”

Totally agreed. There are too of both of those kinds of people in the world, imo…

What religion was the flight attendant? Maybe a convert to the Religion of Peace?

As long as i got a face, she’s having a place to sit on.
Also, if i were her, i would sue the living sh*t out of that airline, and al the people who think that the airline was right,
are just jealous ugly fat *ss people themselves.

  22. #22 POSTED BY jeffrey(from the Netherlands, Sep 8th, 2007 6:47 am

It’s funny we can see this weblink in our country(the netherlands). Personally i don’t see any problems with the way she dresses. But this girl is really stupid and she’s only interested to claim money for psychological damage.
    Goodluck

  23. #23 POSTED BY Lisa from Maine, Sep 8th, 2007 7:02 am

I don’t see anything wrong with that. How embarassing for them to do that to her. She wasn’t doing anything wrong. I think someone was just plain jealous. They owe her not only a huge apology but I think she should be given a free flight (though if I were her, I probably wouldn’t set foot on that airline again). Cut the girl some slack, I’ve seen a whole lot worse.

  24. #24 POSTED BY , Sep 8th, 2007 8:00 am

    First time poster.

First off, I have attached a website that I think everyone should see, and those morons at Southwest should remember: . It is one of the first commercials done by this airline back in 1972. The outfit pretty much was the same one Kyla Ebbert wore on her flight to Tucson.

    Nuf said about that.

Secondly, the airlines themselves had better start remembering that it is the passengers that saved their hides during the last airline depression, which lasted six years. If the airline owners are so darn prepared to dump the business as a going concern, than continue to treat us this way ….. frankly it is going to only be a matter of minutes that airlines realize that they fouled up the one source of income - passengers when they approach the bankruptcy judge to ask for protection.

Airlines are sometimes run by idiots, not unlike other going concerns.

  25. #25 POSTED BY littleL, Sep 8th, 2007 8:10 am

She is doing the pull down pose. The button on her skirt is ON hre pubic area. HELLO? This is NOT how she wore the outfit while flying..

She wore the shirt up showing gutting pelvic bones and the skirt was approx. 1 inch from showing crotch. She looked like a whore waiting for a John

  26. #26 POSTED BY , Sep 8th, 2007 9:57 am

Ok, so maybe I am not as hot, not as tall, or not as young as to be comfortable wearing such attire…but she is, and that is her choice. So I say: You got it, flaunt it! I have seen way worse on southwest flights and I am a mother of three! I will admit, yeah, I am jealous of her…but I wouldn’t complain about her ability to wear what she wants…I would compliment her on her confidence and maybe ask what diet she’s on, because she is obviously doing something right!

  27. #27 POSTED BY Steveq, Sep 8th, 2007 10:03 am

If she was embarrassed about what happened on the airplane I can only imagine haw she feels about flashing her panties to the nation on the today show as she sat down.

  28. #28 POSTED BY Yep, Sep 8th, 2007 10:07 am

I’d fondle her… twice on the flight

  29. #29 POSTED BY Verynice, Sep 8th, 2007 10:26 am

I’m sorry, but she is pretty nice looking, and it might have been a “family” airline, but little kids won’t know the difference.
If she weren’t wearing any panties, I’d be really pissed.

  30. #30 POSTED BY Jonathan, Sep 8th, 2007 10:49 am

Ok, what was she flying to Tucson for? For a doctor’s appointment? Don’t they have any doctors in San Diego? I bet it was a plastic surgeon. Every comment was about the front view. What about the rear view as she was walking to her seat? I bet if she did not pull the skirt down and she was wearing a thong, everyone must have been getting quite a show of ass cheek!

  31. #31 POSTED BY Keith Schwartz, Sep 8th, 2007 11:05 am

I would like to have seen the photo taken on the cell phone. I’ll bet it is quite different from the way she appeared on the show. I just sat next to a cutie dressed like that last week. I didn’t mind.

  32. #32 POSTED BY Avg, Sep 8th, 2007 11:44 am

This Girl is dressed like a whore, she looks like one as well. These people seem money hungry and nothing more. If I went on a plane wearing a thong i’m sure someone would feel offended. They didn’t kick her off however, they just let her know it was offensive. If you dress like a dumb whore expect to get treated like one. If these people had any class they would play down the situation as much as possible, keep quiet and settle outside of court. They have the worst lawyer in history. Now this has become a PR nightmare for southwest and they will do everything within their power to win this case. And they will!

  33. #33 POSTED BY David, Sep 8th, 2007 11:47 am

I usually have to sit between to 300 pound women in the same outfit!

  34. #34 POSTED BY Dirty Harry, Sep 8th, 2007 12:47 pm

Come on guys, she’s not that hot looking! She has a droopy dog face…She knew she would get attention which is why she wore that stupid outfit. No, I wouldn’t have kicked her off the flight but she needs to learn how to dress a bit more mature.

  35. #35 POSTED BY Ana B, Sep 8th, 2007 12:54 pm

What I heard from someone who was there that this is what her outfit looked like after she adjusted it. The tank top was pulled down so low that people couldn’t even see the white showing on top. It was all flesh showing between the turquoise top. Couple that with the short skirt that was hiked up higher than what she was showing on The Today Show is it any wonder she was asked to adjust her outfit? And she was overhead telling the employee thanks for being discreet. She also said she was going to see her boob doctor in Tucson. Talk about blowing something out of proportion. I wish someone could get a hold of the security checkpoint photos so we could all see how she was really dressed.

  36. #36 POSTED BY Chris, Sep 8th, 2007 12:58 pm

Basically everything I’ve heard is an opinion. Now opinions are great, but generally are worth nothing. The point is she didn’t break any state laws or southwest airlines dress code, since there isn’t one. In that case they have no right to try and enforce one. And for everybody offended open your eyes. If this bothers you that much I suggest never leaving your house or turning on your TV. What gets me is you have these large women who wear too small of shirts, with their breasts almost hanging, but no one will say anything to them in fear of offending them for being fat. Or just as an example many people are offended by gay couples, however if two gay men sit next to you on a plane are they going to be kicked off? No, because they aren’t breaking any laws or rules. Everybody is always entitled to their on opinion, but in this case she legally didn’t do anything wrong. Oh and regards the comment above if you’ve ever worked for a large company you’d realize that most of the time they like to try and settle cases not win them since it takes to long and most likely they have a lot more suets already.

  37. #37 POSTED BY Scott, Sep 8th, 2007 1:05 pm

Those of you saying she’s ‘dressed like a whore’ or making mention of her ‘pelvic bone’ STFU… christ. The only reason you’d be so adamant about said bone is because you’re jealous. Plain and simple. See, alot of not so attractive women have this problem… they know there’s NO way they’d be caught dead in an outfit like that because they know they can’t pull it off. So what do they do? They sh*t talk the ones who can and make it sound like they’re going to burn in hell for their choice of attire. You know what? Shes’s an adult, and she’s not showing her hoohoo, and there’s nothing sexy about that top at ALL.. so quit hating, and lying to yourself. You know damn well if you COULD wear that, without looking like you just got finished doing the truffle shuffle, you would, and if you were called out, you’d be reacting the same way. Whole lot of self righteous folks out there, when they’re sitting at home in their glass houses.

In closing- she’s hella hot, and I’d wear that sh*t out. Just sayin..

  38. #38 POSTED BY Dawn, Sep 8th, 2007 1:30 pm

Censorship, censorship, censorship! That’s all this is. We all have a right to freedom of expression. Do I enjoy having my kid see the guy in serving us at McDonalds with his multiple body piercings and entire boy covered in tattoos. No! Can I do anything about it? Not really. Not eat there but I guarantee you everywhere else I go there will be someone else that is frely expressing themselves in a way I may not like as well. Some teenage girl with their thing showing or some jock high school kid with his boxers showing. BUt, the last I knew we lived in America. I free country where we all have the right to freely express themselves and THIS is what I have taught my children. However, I am also trying to trach my children that above also, including our rights to express ourselves we need to RESPECT ourselves. That means respect how you dress yourself and repects your body. It’s a shame not everyone does. But guess what? It’s not a crime. You shouldn’t be kicked off a plane for it. If it bothers you. Too bad. Suck it up. If your husband’s eyes are popping out, that’s his problem. If you have young children your concerned about, considered it a teachable moment. But don’t make someone else’s life miserable because you’d rather live in a communist country. Enjoy the free world we live in and be thankful!

“Keith” was gay. This is all about Keith. Keith was PMS’ing this day.

This is what we get for news because of “Keith”.

    Fire Keith!

Oh, sorry, that would take an act of congress.

  40. #40 POSTED BY Joe, Sep 8th, 2007 2:03 pm

This is not news. Who cares if they kick some prostitute off a plane. The airline has the right to refuse anyone they want from flying. She can cover up or get the fuck off the plane

  41. #41 POSTED BY Rick B, Sep 8th, 2007 2:45 pm

Good grief…what are we turning into? In case no one has noticed, this is AMERICA and most of its people have no interest in becoming the newest FUNDAMENTALIST nation. That this young lady was “accosted” because somebody was able to see a part of her body covered in fabric defecates in the face of reason. No wonder some of our European neighbors snicker at Americans as hypocritical contradictions of themselves. Was this girl exposing her naked private parts? Do we not allow our very children to see much more at any public beach in The USA? If you have a problem with how this girl dressed or by the laws that allowed her to legally purchase and wear her apparel, I have two suggestions for you; move to a place where BURKAS are the prescribed attire for women or simply DON’T LOOK!

  42. #42 POSTED BY Sarah, Sep 8th, 2007 2:53 pm

Well I think I might keep my mini skirt low cut top wearing butt off Southwest from now on…
I wouldn’t want someone to start a riot just because of the way I dress

  43. #43 POSTED BY stephanie, Sep 8th, 2007 3:49 pm

First- she isn’t all that hot–she is very common looking. Looks and dresses like many 18-22 year olds…maybe her face is looking a little old to be dressed like that but anyway……
it’s a free country.. I have never noticed the dress code for flights..can someone point it out for me?? Men espose their hairy gross pits in those sleeveless shirts…that’s way more offensive than her nasty privates.. The fact that disease can be transmitted is a reason she needs to cover that nasty stuff up.

  44. #44 POSTED BY Joe Martins, Sep 8th, 2007 3:50 pm

    Puritan idiots…
Why not make all women wear burkas? Is America really so different from the Afghanistan? Hell will freeze before I set foot on a place like that…

  45. #45 POSTED BY Susie, Sep 8th, 2007 3:59 pm

SOUTHWEST SHOULDA MADE HER PUT A BAG OVER HER HEAD!!! Whoa!! There’s nothing like a butter-face skank, waltzing around in public looking like a beat up whore. God bless the good old USA, right?!

  46. #46 POSTED BY Kevin, Sep 8th, 2007 4:04 pm

Uh yeah! I know living in such a rights activist world makes a lot of people think they can do what they want to do. I agree. You can. You have every right to speak, do, where anything you want but that comes with responsibility and not everyone will agree with your choices. You live in a public world and busineses have every RIGHT to refuse service if need be. She was not refused service. The situation was brought to her attention and she had choices before she left for the airport and when she got there. Anyone who is that naive to think that this whole biased story happened just as reported is nuts. As she stood up on the Today show she obviously was self concious about what she was wearing and was tugging at her skirt. She also try to focus on her breasts when it was obviously that was not the reason she was told to cover up. Oh, to all those who are making comments about if you got it, flaunt it some people don’t have it and still try to flaunt it. Remember it works both ways. If you let this skinny chick get away with it than forgive me but enjoy sitting next to a 300lb woman wearing the same outfit or even worse a man wearing something revealing his jewels. Thank you for choosing Southwest. Happy flights.

  47. #47 POSTED BY Rick, Sep 8th, 2007 4:04 pm

I fly frequently all over the US and internationally and I’m perplexed. What was wrong with Ebbert’s attire? What was visible that was so objectionable? Even if she wasn’t wearing panties, who’s business was it to be looking up/down there? In 2004, I traveled on business to a Scandinavian country. As I boarded the Nordic plane, I noticed a very beautiful woman seated at the bulkhead row 1 with her blouse and bra completely unbuttoned and her beautiful busoms fully exposed! As an American, I’m shocked, but then I noticed that she was preparing to breast feed her baby. It was all beautiful, natural and normal. No one complained, it was just normal. I could only imagine if that had happened in America…mercy! The FBI, TSA and other authorities would have been called, the woman and her bady both handcuffed and arrested, the mother strip searched, the airport locked down, everyone running around in fear, and the TV programs running wild with the story, and on and on. In Ebbert’s case, my guess is that the complaining passenger was an inexperienced traveler and SW had to respond to avoid more problems. Our society needs to grow up.

  48. #48 POSTED BY Kevin, Sep 8th, 2007 4:20 pm

I suggest reading the Contract of Carriage on Southwest.com. Travelling is really not that difficult, it’s waht you make of it. It’s not like all these regulations are brand new. Yes, it inconvenient but do some research before showing up to the airport. I mean come on, she was going to a “doctors appt”. I know she has something in her closet for a quick trip to the doctors office other than her club outfit.

  49. #49 POSTED BY Kevin, Sep 8th, 2007 4:29 pm

I may not be making millions of dollars but when I go places I try to dress accordingly. For example if I go to a restaurant I wear something appropriate for the occasion or surroundings. Not too hard to figure out. Did she honestly have to ask what part of her outfit was wrong, DUMB! If a Hooters waitress can’t figure out what’s up then obviously Mom and Dad didn’t have much to offer their daughter. What a shame:(

  50. #50 POSTED BY Cindy, Sep 8th, 2007 5:33 pm

I totally agree that Kyla should not have been harassed in front of others on the plane, or asked to cover up. I have seen sexier outfitted women than Kyla on a plane. One thing to note, Kyla made a concentrated effort to make sure her skirt and shirt was pulled down while on the show, I would bet she didn’t do that while getting on the plane. Second thing, we don’t know if a woman was the one to complain, it could have been a male with Christian values! So stop thinking that all women are jealous, “haters”, fat, soccer moms, whatever, because I believe in protecting my constitutional rights in that I can wear whatever I want on on the plane, as should us all.

  51. #51 POSTED BY ren, Sep 8th, 2007 6:18 pm

  53. #53 POSTED BY Kevin, Sep 8th, 2007 7:38 pm

To the people replying, she is not that cute. Oh it’s another doeyed bimbette who got disciplined. It’s apparent her parents couldn’t do it. Whatever! This chick and her mother are off there rocker. The lawyer, well it has to be said he’s an ambulance chaser and has no clients. No chance in the world of winning a case against Southwest Airlines. There DUMB! Every business has a right to rufuse service. I’ve been in Coyote Ugly and they have asked a person to get off their bar because they were showing to much. It’s an airline. I know guys, you want to sit next to a girl on your flight wearing next to nothing but she’s ugly and has nothing to do with decency. Besides, I hope your next flight with a scantily clad person is someone that uou do not find attractive and quite frankly repulsive. Happy Trails!

  54. #54 POSTED BY Eliana, Sep 8th, 2007 7:44 pm

Kyla, Kyla, Kyla… What kind of doctor’s appointment where you heading to?

The flight attendant did not embarrass this girl, she embarrassed herself! If this had been an overweight or less favorable looking woman, nobody would have a problem with having her cover up some - completely I should say!

The disturbing part is that her mother seems to applaud her daughter’s whore-like outfit! I wonder if she is okay with her daughter attracting the wrong type of attention and having people looking up her skirt as she walked through this plane’s aisle!

I wonder what would happen if a passenger on that flight would have sexually harassed her, or if someone would have touched her inappropriately while walking down the aisle, or made a rude comment about her or her outfit while in the plane? Who’s fault would’ve been at that point? Would they still blame the airline for her lack of common sense?

There is a time and place for everything, and that little piece of clothing this girl was wearing to go out and take a flight, was wrong in every aspect. She wanted attention, she’s getting it - and that is not a compliment!

And what is she complaining about? She was still able to fly.

P.S. Message to the dumb Mother: your daughter doesn’t need more attention; the fake boobs at 17 are enough! Have her cover up next time!

  55. #55 POSTED BY RZ, Sep 8th, 2007 9:49 pm

I read a report indicating that approximately 15% of American women don’t wear panties normally. Here are more historical tidbits: women didn’t start wearing panties in mass until the second half of the 18th century. Prior to then, women didn’t wear panties. So, from the landings of the Spaniards, French and British in America between 1492 - 1515 through the 1850’s+, American women didn’t wear panties. Now you’ll see some historical figures in a new light…:)

  56. #56 POSTED BY RZ follow-up, Sep 8th, 2007 10:32 pm

That’s over 21 million American women normally running around without panties! Ms. Ebbert is probably not all that unusual. (based on 2000 census)

  57. #57 POSTED BY RZ follow-up, Sep 8th, 2007 11:03 pm

I don’t see the big deal. She is covered….nothing is showing. I figure there was a jealous person that brought up the issue. Can’t please everybody all the time. She looks fine to me. I have seen worse.

I’m sorry, but Kyla is NOT hot, she’s 23 and seriously looks like she could pass for 40. Granted, she’s not as bad as some 300 lb porker, but still too much time under the fake n’ bake machine or something. She’s nothing more than a dime-bag skank-ho trying to get every desperate guy who drools over anything with 2 legs to look at her. Her parents should be ashamed of themselves AND of her, for raising such a classless bimbo. I travel a lot for work, and although I hate Southwest and only fly them as a last option, I applaud them for attempting to uphold at least a minimal standard of decency on their flights. And I have also long applauded their policy of charging 2 seats to the fatties who can’t fit comfortably in their seat without a seatbelt extension to help pull in their rolls. I bet it was a fatty who complained to the flight attendant. I have a son & a daughter, 16 & 14. My wife and I have always tried to instill strong moral values in them, at very least they have more pride than to go running around looking like the street trash this Kyla whore is.

She had her skirt pulled down and her shirt covering half of her backside so she would not look like she did on the plane.

Look at where her hips are relative to the skirt

This is a story of mommy getting involved and daughter trying to act like she was lil innocent thing that got embarrassed by her attention whore dressing

Ana B~ OMG, she was possibly showing a bit of cleavage and her middriff (according to your source who was “there”)? Have you ever been to a beach? Are you offended that much when you go there? BTW, Southwest told a reporter that they had NO DRESS CODE, and that if a woman in a bikini top came onto their plane, they would have NO problem with it. They said that if they are covered (meaning the privates) they are fine to fly.
And to the person who said she wasn’t going to be kicked off the flight, just lectured, that’s not true. She was escorted out and asked to return later for a different flight. She put up a fight and that’s the only reason she got let back on. They had full intention on kicking her off, not giving her a talking too.
Who cares the way she is dressed anyway? As long as her bits were covered, why does this matter? We see celebrities wearing much less out and about all the time and no one cares. This is how most skinny minny college girls dress, so again, who cares? SW is just a horrible company. Have you all ever seen the show airline? They treat their customers like crap quite often.

She gives me “Snakes On A Plane”.I would much rather sit next to a beautiful woman wearing too little than sit next to a person wearing a turbin and smelling of camel crap. I’m sure that the fat chick who complained in the first place has not been reprimanded for wearing a blue tarp with “Crock” shoes and smoking 3 packs of cigarettes a day and beating her kids who are living off of child support while she gambles her money away.Beautiful people are victims of bullshit abuse just like fat people and nerds have always been. It’s a preference thing and the majority of women could not pull this look off because they do not either have the genetics too or lack the ambition to try and look this good. Too many pudgie pies and the arrogance to forget what is really important in life is what ruins this for some fat chick’s flight.I would gladly give this lady the opportunity to sit next to me any day of the week versus many of the illegal aliens travelling this country every day.Looking for attention is not a crime as much as avoiding attention to commit one. Fly high and free Kyla!!!!!!

    To: Eric Curtain
Several years ago while on a SW flight, the most gorgeous woman boarded and sat next to me. This gal was about 5′7″, slender but curvaceous, long blond hair, blue eyes, beautiful face and had a very nice personality. Well, it was a great flight! At the end of the flight she laughed as she told me she was an illegal alien from Canada and that she crossed the border illegally whenever she wanted. She then referred to US Border controls as a joke. This lady didn’t fit the sterotype of an illegal alien and I’m sure her beauty got her preferential treatment at the borders. These days, with all the security controls, illegals don’t travel by air anymore. The airline agents know at the moment of check- in, the status of the customer - citizen or alien, and whether the person is wanted by any law enforcement agency.

This girl needs to get naked - shes a hooters waitress for gods sake. She’s proud of that body and she should be. Playboys calling. I wonder if that doctors appointment was to see if her new tits had dropped into place yet. God bless girls like that.

  72. #72 POSTED BY kb from nz, Sep 9th, 2007 6:29 am

she IS inappropriately dressed and undoubtedly looked 50% more sleezy before pull the skirt down (what’s there of it) and the top down to cover her stomach. she looks like a prostitute and her mother should be embarrassed. the “doctor’s” appointment probably to get a bigger boob job. personally, your country needs to raise it’s standards. how can one say this is NOT inappropriate?? it is the airline’s decision to keep someone off the flight. what’s the argument?

  73. #73 POSTED BY Teri, Sep 9th, 2007 8:50 am

Good lord - you can see all the way up her skirt when she sat down with Matt. She was dress inappropriately for a flight or any other public place besides Hooters or a night club. How do you explain her public display to a small child. Common sense and decency is gone. And what is wrong with her mother?

  74. #74 POSTED BY James, Sep 9th, 2007 9:22 am

I think the big problem here is that Southwest Airlines forgot to send its employees on a course teaching customer relations.Kyla is a paying customer …..just like the customer that probably complained. If the employee that talked to her had just been a liitle nicer with her and asked very politely if
she’d mind taking a blanket if it wasn’t too much trouble then all of this could’ve been avoided. Wake up Southwest!!
Cheaper to train your employees on these situations than what it might end up costing you now

Give me a break. She’s 23 and should be able to handle the situation on her own without mommy and mommy’s lawyer getting involved. Personally I feel Kyla is being exploited by her own mother and her mothers attorney! Notice how the father has stayed out of the fray so far. Smart move on his part.

OMG. If it was a man with his “stuff” showing, the whole world would be after him. I say, if she can do it…everyone can. So go ahead and say okay honey, it is alright to show your stuff…I like looking. But be careful, the next time you look, it might be something you don’t want to see, just like the people on the plane. She is not the only person in the world that likes to show herself. Don’t open up pandora’s box.

  78. #78 POSTED BY Darla, Sep 9th, 2007 8:41 pm

There are some pictures on the internet featuring some southwest stewardess uniform dresses that are just as short. The airlines have too much “absolute power” given to them by the patriot act (and other laws). They are a business and would have the right to refuse service but, (1) they have done worst themselves. and (2) they become a “mixed economy” business when the taxpayers have to bail out their finances and the president forces people to go back to work for the sake of the industry. They are abusing public trust and usually don’t refund money as the public sees as fair. The airlines are second in line to fuel companys as being operated by creepy people policies, IMHO.

  80. #80 POSTED BY FLYgirl, Sep 9th, 2007 11:09 pm

Fact: She was NOT kicked off the plane. She travelled as scheduled. Fact: She was not scolded or even spoken to IN FRONT OF ANY OTHER PASSENGERS. Fact: The white tank top was rolled up to expose her stomach, the top of the shirt was pulled down to expose all cleavage and the little sweater over that shirt is what was covering her chest. Fact: It was not a flight attendant (male or female) who complained. I personally know the people involved, and the stories on the internet just boggle the mind…

The funny thing is that this national “news” is just simply GOSSIP that was put out there either by Kyla or her mother (who wrote the complaint letters.)I’m sure that this is just a platform to get the attention of Playboy or Maxim or something…at SWA expense. Seriously, look at the exposure this girl has already received. If this girl is as embarrassed and humiliated as she claims to be, why one earth would she 1) wait over two months to go public with it…and 2) why wouldn’t she be more careful when she returned to her seat in front of Matt Lauer? I’m not the only one who saw her undies…. (Go to the Today Show website and you’ll see what I’m talking about.)

I personally wouldn’t want to sit on the seat that she occupied on that flight…God knows if she had any underwear on that day. (You should see her myspace pictures…)

Hmmm….I went to a large fundamental church recently which had auditorium seating. A 30ish attractive gal came in wearing a very similar outfit as Ebbert’s and I don’t think she was anything under that short skirt! And, on another Sunday, I went to a nice restaurant for lunch afterwards. In came two attractive middle aged women (late 50s) which sat down in the waiting area. I think they had just left church also. One of them wore a nice dress with a slit down the front and her underwear was easily visible by anyone..go figure. While in college, I worked at a full-service gas station and I the women customers were always so much fun. I saw EVERYTHING during that job! Unfortunately, the job didn’t pay much, but the visual perks were awesome…:). I don’t think what Ebbert did was that unusual but a few people focused on it and now it has become a national issue.

  84. #84 POSTED BY TS, Sep 10th, 2007 2:56 pm

I have no problem with her outfit - free country. I do want to tell the folks who are commenting on the 1972 Southwest Ad - those are HOT PANTS not dresses. Prehaps I am aging myself but hot pants are short, shorts - look closely you will see the shorts.

  85. Concerning this issue RAEL, the spiritual leader of the Raelian Movement, an atheistic and non-profit organization gave his statement. Raelian Movement claims that we - the whole Humanity - were created in laboratories by scientists (of human race) from different planet, extra-terrestrials, who created earthlings in their “own image” as also Bible says. This is the atheistic organization cause we do not believe in any God at all. Let’s read more what Rael said about this issue concerning SW Airlines and Ms. Ebbert.

One question: What did the passenger who complained look like? Because if someone complained about my appearance I would ask to see what THEY look like. The chance to face your accuser at the very least. My bet is, their appearance is probably a lot more offensive. Since WHEN, no matter what the policy of any business, does someone get the right to anonymously attack someone else with impunity? If I felt I had to complain about someone, I would be willing to face them. If someone isn’t willing to face the person they are accusing, they shouldn’t be allowed to invisibly attack them without any possible repercussions.

  87. #87 POSTED BY Michael Feaster, Sep 10th, 2007 6:11 pm

    AND ANOTHER THING, lol.
One of the best things about being out in public areas is the chance to see all the pretty ladies and people-watch. I don’t want some anonymous twit deciding what is or isn’t offensive. AT LEAST if someone is going to be given that right, why can’t it be someone like me? Can you just IMAGINE what public areas would look like if I got that decision? My God, THE HUMANITY!

I think the airlines ought to be hiring more women to dress like this on their flights. A distraction like this would keep out minds off the fact that the flights are too expensive, always late on arriving and just getting more and more expensive to use as a form of travel.
My hats off to Kyla, I’m sure that the Hooters that she works at will enjoy the added business once she returns to work.

But kyla is 23 and she works at Hooter’s yaaaaay, Cheeers Kyla I’ll be coming to San D soon, want anymore skimpy skirts or dresses?

She dressed like that to get attention so this skank shouldn’t be surprised that she got it. And what’s up with her flaky mother? I’d be embarassed to have my parents see me dressed like that. She doesn’t look as wonderful as she and her mother think.

  92. #92 POSTED BY RZ, Sep 11th, 2007 8:39 pm

Hey…SWA should start selling panties for $5 a pair, this way they can be sure no one will get offended by accidentally seeing a vagina on board! I can just hear it now …’softdrinks, panties, water, coffee, peanuts, beer…’….lol

  93. #93 POSTED BY RZ follow-up on #92, Sep 11th, 2007 8:53 pm

I’ve been on international flights where the flight attendants handed out socks which I’ve always found amusing since most people wear socks…oh well. To avoid future problems from commando women with short skirts, seems that SWA could handout women’s panties with their logo and address this way the panties could be easily returned if lost or found….lol…:)))

I am wondering if Ms. Kyla’s seat was not in a row, as it usually happens in airplanes. If so, she would have had in front of her legs the back of the seat ahead of hers.

Was she sitting in a lounge?

Did SWA give her a swivel chair, so she could flash her legs towards the aisle?

If comparison is made with the TV show, where she had a spotlight searching for her underwear, it is a completely different environment, and judgment is completely out of focus.

Please be a little bit more self-critical.

Wow. I can’t believe her mother stood up for her. ‘She’s dressing like every other college girl.’ Yeah, news flash. Every college girl that dresses like that is a slut. She’s bringing attention to two central parts of her body. Her breasts and her vagina.
Way to not be a piece of meat, Kyla! Good job! Way to degrade women even more!
There are people out there fighting to make it so that we’re equal with men, and then there are idiotic girls out there who dress like this and are okay with being treated like a piece of meat. Half of these comments are reasons why she shouldn’t go out there dressed like. Seriously, I’m glad they told her how she should dress.

I honestly see nothing wrong with her outfit. Living in LA, CA I see this type of dress all over the place and do not feel offended in any way. Sure I feel that some women shouldn’t be wearing such clothing because of their age or body type, but for the most part this is the style. Airlines should really have no say. Before you know it they’ll be keeping overweight individuals from boarding because their love handles spill into the next seat or into the aisle. Will it ever stop?
