The Iraq War is always a big topic, but apparently, they are trying to pull out.
They have decided to bring home troops; any other decisions will be put off until mid-March.
The troops sent out to Baghdad in January, called “surge”, are to be coming home mid-summer 2008. With those four brigades coming home then there will be 130,000 troops still fighting.
Here is a graph to show how much the United States has spent on this war.
This graph is how many troops we have had in Iraq over the past seven years.
These are all the fatalities broken down month by month in each year from 2003 to 2007.
Petraeus had said, “Military progress has been uneven, but the “surge” campaign launched in January is meeting its goals. And he said U.S. objectives in Iraq can still be met, “although doing so will be neither quick nor easy.”
