A couple of gas hoarding lit their apartment complex on fire.  How many gallons you say?  Approximately 45 gallons of gasoline in nine plastic containers stacked in a closet that also contained an air conditioning unit caused the blaze.  The fumes from the gasoline set off the fire Thursday, luckily, it was quickly extinguished by the sprinkler system.

No one was seriously hurt, but residents of eight units of the complex were displaced.

Investigators believe the couple was storing the gas because of rising prices. Officials say they might face civil penalties for violating the fire code.

I only mention this as a reminder of what not to do with the ever rising gas prices.  All I gotta say is, hybrid cars.

We had some wicked thunder and lightning last night, so wicked that it struck a storage tanker at Magellan Petroleum facility near downtown, causing 100-foot flames to erupt from the facility. The flames and thick black smoke billowing from the building was visible for miles.

The tank contained 58,000 barrels of unleaded gasoline, and fire crews are trying to prevent the blaze from reaching a nearby tank with 15,000 barrels of gas.

KCK Fire Chief Thomas DeKeyser says the department plans to let the fire burn itself out.

That storm last night was pretty amazing, it left my grandmother without power, and my parents with a flooded basement. I watched as the large river that used to be my apartment’s parking lot carry off small children and a dog. Not really, but it was extremely flooded with the amount of rain we got.

I’m not sure how many people have seen this commercial but Fathead must have hired a damn good agency/writer/creative team to do this one.

The style, the tone, the art direction are just fantastic for this product.

Fathead sells giant, larger than life, vinyl decals that you can stick on your wall.

Cool idea for the sports fans that wants to show off pride (as this commercial starts off with) but the commentary and style of the commercial get me.

Very cool mix of tone, imagery and style of “bear fan” combined with fire breathing bear and attitude of host.

Very well done Fathead, great commercial for something I probably never buy, but certainly made me take note.
