Olympics Commercial | Tylenol
by: Stuart

This another good Olympic commercial.

Tylenol has delivered a great concept, music score is dead on and visuals are beautiful.

They have also taken the Feel Better online, even part of the Tylenol logo treatment.

Barack Obama Commercial | The Hands
by: Stuart

I watched this Obama commercial during the Olympic Games the other night.

I’m not going to get all political here on DHADM, plenty of other sites for that, so I will address the commercial and not who to vote for.

The commercial is actually really good, it set up the candidate, it implies the oil free future, new skilled jobs…very comforting. Good copy, good VO and good art direction (for a campaign ad).

Regardless of who the candidate is, this is a good ad. If you stick Obama or McCain on the end it would be a good commercial, so the only question is do you believe in the “hand” that paid for this commercial can achieve what it promotes?

Doogey Houser does Old Spice
by: Sarah

This commercial is way better than the , and not because it’s funny, because it’s Doogie Houser!  The bit about the “former make believe doctor” is absolutely hilarious, adding the “That’s why I can recommend it, I used to be a doctor for pretend.”  Anyway, love it, watch it.

JC Penney Speed Dressing commercial
by: Sarah

Well, I thought this spot was pretty hilarious, but what is it teaching our youth about sex?  “Today’s the day to get away with it” is a tad out of line on the abstinence front, but makes the commercial way more hilarious.  Yeah, that’s right, I’m torn between “this commercial is hilarious” and “it’s way out of line.”  But let’s just say that it isn’t what I expected from a J.C. Penney commercial.

AT&T’s you’re a dillweed commercial
by: Sarah

AT&T always has pretty decent commercials, I especially like the father searching for his absent daughter at make-out point.  I love the irony of him “singing” Motorhead’s Ace of Spades while he misses the calls from his buddy trying to offer him Motorhead tickets, what a dillweed.  Not much else to say about this one really, so enjoy the spot I’m sure there will be others.

Yellow Pages - Dog Broom
by: Sarah

Here’s an advert I really don’t have much to say about other than it reminds me of when I was younger and my mom complained about my long pants “sweeping the streets.”

Yellow Pages - Chimney Sweep
by: Sarah

It’s a Yellow Pages kind of day, here is the Chimney Sweep advert.  This one also reminds me of my childhood out in the boonies.  This one makes me think of my ultra redneck neighbors, seems like something they would do, but they might have forgotten the rope and gotten stuck.

Philips’ New Electric Razor Commercial
by: Stuart

Not going to write much for this one, better to just watch.

I guess one thing I should add is that I love fembots.

Direct TV commercial - Cable Headquarters
by: Sarah

Direct TV’s current commercial out is set in Cable’s Headquarters.  They are trying to think of new ways to make them more appealing than Direct TV.  Lies never work, remember that.

Optical Illusion Motorcycle Commercial from London
by: Sarah

I always enjoy a commercial that makes me think, one that tricks my mind into thinking that it is something totally different. This London commercial starts off talking about optical illusions and later you find that it is to raise awareness of motorcyclists on the road. I saw a few other of their commercials but this one was my favorite since it hit a little closer to home.

A good friend of mine was in a motorcycle wreck two weeks ago today. He ended up rear-ending the car in front of him after they slammed on their brakes. He was taken from the accident strapped to a stretcher. He ended up with a collapsed lung, chipped vertebrae and broken ribs.

For the sake of other motorcyclists, please give enough room for them to stop.
