Here is an excerpt from her blog of why she is upset:
So, Cattrall told Access Hollywood: “Her [Samantha's] location is now on another coast, so there’s a lot of beige and sunshine, the ‘Golden-Kind-of-Girl’ feeling to it, which my hair and makeup team had a ball with! There’s a lot of suntan lotion, a lot of sparkly stuff, which Samantha revels in.”
Well, this certainly makes sense within the realm of the ending — Samantha is with Smith, who is becoming a big movie star. Naturally, if she stuck with him, she’d be on her way to LA. It also fits into that whole swimsuit scene in the trailer. That being said, there’s a few problems with this. Long-distance friendship was a huge sticky point in the end of the series. So, while it makes sense, it’s hardly the best layout for showing their interconnected friendships.
Well, to put this plainly, Samantha gave up her old ways of life when she told Smith not to have sex with anyone else.
On the other hand, I am extremely excited that Samantha has committed, I know her character is promiscuous, but her actually being happy is fantastic… Especially with the character she did, so bad ass.
Long-distance friendships work, it’s not like a lover relationship, you don’t cheat on one another by making new friends.
