The Discovery Channel is one of my favorite channels, I like most of what they produce.
They have also done a quick download media player so you can watch the shows you have missed in very good quality.
I missed Last Man Standing on Thursday and tonight I watch the entire show, with no commercials, tonight on a 19″ screen with little distortion. Watch out advertisers, this is another way to cut you out.
In this episode the guys are Aki Kiti (kick fighting) in Nagaland with the Sumi tribe. Very interesting watching but not for the faint of heart and not just because it can be brutal but becuase they eat a dog for strength…which they didn’t know until well into the meal.

I was so saddened to see the part about the poor dog killed and slung on a pole to be eaten. I actually stopped watching and will not return to watch the show. There are some things better left unsaid or not seen for that matter!! This is one instance I think the discovery channel could have avoided filming and still had a decent show. Just not a fan anymore!
are you serious? the whole show is about dealing not only with one’s own physical limitations but with the nuances of other cultures. the show focues on the different athletic endeavors of other peoples, but it is all within the backdrop of different psyches, different customs, different ways of behaving. that is what makes the show so great.
if you dont want to see what other cultures do, what they eat, how they fight, how they work, how they think, then please, watch any of the myriad of western shows that make no effort to add perspective to our sheltered western lives.
some cultures think cows are sacred. had a burger lately?
