becomeanex.org Woman Jumps for Cigarette
by: Stuart

This commercial is brutal but gets the point across in a great way.

Imagine what you would do for one more drag…and then become an ex.

Check out the site: becomeanex.org

by: Stuart

Pretty damn funny commercial from Stanley Steemer. “Stop it Toby,” too funny.

Stride Gum | Ram Attack
by: Stuart

I like the Stride Gum commercials, they are quirky and unpredictable.

Not bad for gum, The Ridiculously Long Lasting Gum…that is.

Looks like they have redone the web site (bout time) to reflect the advertising.

Go kill a few minutes at: www.stridegum.com

Microsoft Makeover Working? Not So Much from Seattle Metropolitan Magazine
by: Stuart

msft010

I do like the , they usually have great articles on architecture and dining. I’m not sure I agree with MC on this one. MSFT does seem to follow on some things but if you look at what LiveLabs is doing, Windows Live Writer (this is one of the most useful tools they give away), Photosynth and Seadragon then you might look at them a little different. I think that MSFT should be focused on the innovative stuff they are doing.

If MSFT spent some ad dollars on the things I have listed, which would be cool to work on (speaking as a creative director for a second) they could show how innovative and forward thinking they really are - in some ways anyway.

Resistance 2
by: Stuart

I know nothing of this game, I’m not a gamer at all.

I just don’t have the attention span for it, I wish I did.

What I do really like is this commercial for Resistance 2. Very cool.

I don’t know if this is a common pre-release practice but I found it interesting:

Resistance 2 open beta

The makers of Resistance 2 announced they were running a public beta, and one of the ways to give consumers access to the beta will involve a pre-order program through GameStop.

Once the pre-order program went live, gamers who reserved their copy from GameStop received a card (which stated redeem by 10/22/2008) that contained a beta registration code that was to be entered at myresistance.net. Once the open beta was available, the beta voucher would be emailed to the address that was provided when registered which would allow users to download and install the beta on their PlayStation 3.

E-mails for those who pre-ordered the US version of the game from GameStop have been sent out on 10/16/08, however, as of 10/17/2008, multiple users who pre-ordered their games through GameStop, and Qore 3 have yet to receive their voucher codes so they can download the beta. In the United Kingdom the BETA is due to end on 13th November.

It was possible to sign up for a beta code via and some chosen were sent codes via email.

The Resistance 2 Public Beta went up on October 24. People received the beta code in their e-mails which would be entered into the PSN redeem code section. The Resistance 2 Beta is a 2.2 GB file which includes 2 online multilayer maps and can be played in a 8 player CO-OP online or 60 player online battles.

VW Routan Boom | Brooke Shields Part 2
by: Stuart

Not going to write anything new, everything still applies to this one as the previous post.

Previous post below:

I like VW, I like Brooke Shields, I like this commercial series but I don’t like the VW Routan. No more minivans.

Brooke Shields is the perfect spokesperson for this campaign. She does a great job delivering the lines and how she totally ignores and/or dismisses the people she is around makes me grin a little every time.

Have a look at RoutanBoom.org and the Routan Babymaker. A time waster at best but a time waster none-the-less.

Just for fun I made a McCain and Palin baby using the Routan Babymaker. Like I said, a time waster.

Best Sprint Commercials Since Nextel Commercial
by: Stuart

I love these types of commercials. Simple idea executed well.

No doubt that some in a room said “the screen on my phone is proportional to a football field”.

This commercial is well done and the concept is perfect for what they are advertising. Nicely done Sprint.

This is still the best Sprint/Nextel commercial ever.

AXE | Chocolate
by: Stuart

This AXE Chocolate commercial is wonderfully twisted and enjoyable.

I would have loved to be in the room when they pitched this idea. AXE has done some very creative and adventurous work over the years and this one is my favorite so far.

Keep up the good work and pay your ad agency a little extra this year.

Here are some of the other AXE commercials we have posted:

AXE | Bom Chicka Wah-Wah, Grocery Store
AXE | With More Bom Chicka Wah Wah
AXE | Boost, Next Guy
AXE | Shower Boost
AXE | Touch
AXE Lynx | Spray More, Get More
AXE Clix | Nick and Ben
AXE CLIX And Nick Lachey
AXE Dry The Mother Hen | The Game Killers
Axe Gamekillers
Axe | The Day After
Axe Ads

Verizon | Embarrassing 80’s Parents
by: Sarah

I know every child is embarrassed by their parents at one point in their life, hell I was most of high school.  Don’t deny it, you were the same way too.  Now that I think back, my mom was probably the coolest mom ever, besides that, I’m just glad she never did anything like this!  I say good job to Verizon on this one, they definitely put together a pretty damn good commercial.

Check out some older Verizon spots that we’ve put out:
