This goes in the WTF category. When I lived in Kansas City, I got to go to a few games and the crowd was “energized” but not out of control. The standing up fans was not an issue at all.
Unless something happened in the last 3 years, I really don’t see what the problem is that needs a code-of-conduct. This is not tennis, it’s American Football.
Even better, they are using the stealthy technology of text-tattle on “Fan Code of Conduct”. So you can enjoy the game and rat on anyone that breaks the code. Now that screams sportsmanship and something the fans will love to embrace.
Next they will ask if you believe in evolution before entering the stadium…come on KC Chiefs, let the fans stay standing but textdrunk the bad seeds.

Now I can really make the twisted images I see in clouds. Imagine explaining this idea to someone before you started building it.

We had some wicked thunder and lightning last night, so wicked that it struck a storage tanker at Magellan Petroleum facility near downtown, causing 100-foot flames to erupt from the facility. The flames and thick black smoke billowing from the building was visible for miles.
The tank contained 58,000 barrels of unleaded gasoline, and fire crews are trying to prevent the blaze from reaching a nearby tank with 15,000 barrels of gas.
KCK Fire Chief Thomas DeKeyser says the department plans to let the fire burn itself out.
That storm last night was pretty amazing, it left my grandmother without power, and my parents with a flooded basement. I watched as the large river that used to be my apartment’s parking lot carry off small children and a dog. Not really, but it was extremely flooded with the amount of rain we got.

What a story to wake up to, this mother from Germany is being held by police after one of her three grown children tipped them off about three dead infants. Autopsies are being done to figure out how the children had died. The infants were found Sunday night in the town of Wenden, near Olpe.
The 44-year-old woman, who name was not released, was taken into custody on suspicion that she killed the children.
The woman, her 47-year-old husband, and three grown children — two sons, aged 18 and 22 and a 24-year-old daughter — have lived for years in the town.
Sadly this isn’t uncommon, a number of similar stories come out of Germany.
In February, police were called to a home in northern Germany where a dead infant was discovered in the cellar.
In January, a 28-year-old German woman was charged with manslaughter after the remains of three babies were discovered in her house and the home of a relative. That woman has denied killing the three babies.
Another woman was convicted of manslaughter in 2006 for killing eight of her newborn babies and burying them in flower pots and a fish tank in the garden of her parents’ home near the German-Polish border.

So, I don’t know how many of you know or care, but the Pope is supposed to spend the next five days in the glorious country in which I live. That’s right folks, the Pope is hitting the U.S. in an epic adventure, where I certainly hope he handles some of the negative controversy towards their religion…
Back in March, I wrote the bit about the Catholic Church spending Catholic Church spent $615 million on sexual abuse cases in 2007. Honestly though, even if the Pope does not resolve even half the issues involved, it really wouldn’t put too much of a damper on their existence. Catholic Priests have been molesting their followers for years and years, that shows people in their 60’s to late 70’s standing in protest to the Catholic Church and the Pope.
What an incredibly juicy and controversial piece of TRASH, religion is such a joke. These Priests molest people who have similar beliefs in religion as them, they disrespect their God, disrespect everything they stand for, but when it comes time for them to take responsibility for what they have done, the Pope pays their settlement? THAT IS BULLSHIT. Seriously, if the Pope wants to stand by and let this ridiculousness continue under his ‘roof’ then, why do people continue to be Catholics? Are they brainwashed? Blackmailed? What is the deal?

FINAL SCORE 75-68 ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!
I have spent the last two hours watching an awesome game. Kansas versus Memphis in the NCAA Final Four Championship!
Congratulations Kansas for a spectacular game!
I was starting to bum out towards the end, but with seconds on the clock KU pulls their game back together and throws the game into overtime at 63-63. I can’t even imagine Lawrence right now, hell, even people here are screaming as the final seconds of the game came to an end.
Kansas has not won the Final Four Championship since 1988 and before that 1952, so this is a huge win for the Jayhawks!

No more pesky breathing into a strangers mouth to save their life, now with the new hands-only CPR you don’t have to worry about kissing their Donna Blue face.
In a major change, the American Heart Association said Monday that hands-only CPR — rapid, deep presses on the victim’s chest until help arrives — works just as well as standard CPR for sudden cardiac arrest in adults.
Hopefully people will be more willing to help strangers and loved ones who collapse with no EMS within the vicinity. The new method is way simpler, “You only have to do two things. Call 911 and push hard and fast on the middle of the person’s chest,”said Dr. Michael Sayre, a professor at Ohio State University for emergency medicine.
Hands-only CPR calls for uninterrupted chest presses — 100 a minute — until paramedics take over or an automated external defibrillator is available to restore a normal heart rhythm?
Why is pressing the chest important? Well, if the heart stops, the blood stops pumping and then you get organ failure. So keep that heart a pumpin’ and you’ll keep the brain a workin’… Save lives, press a chest.

Update 2/16: Word on a serial rapist in Reno, NV has surfaced, though I heard about it two weeks ago when this was posted. CNN has posted about the serial rapist who killed the young and beautiful Brianna Denison. Let’s bring some justice to her, and the others, case.
Her body had been in the field for more than a week about 8 miles from the house where she last was seen early January 20 at the edge of the University of Nevada, Reno, he said.
Update: Here is a link to FOX about this case, it includes a sketch of the suspect. Please check it out
Fellow Diggers, please Digg , and help bring home the abducted Brianna Denison.
Brianna Denison was last accounted for at approximately 4:30 a.m., on Sunday, January 20, 2008. It is believed that the suspect encountered her sometime thereafter, at a time when most people were asleep. Because the suspect was out at an odd hour, he may have fabricated a story regarding his activities during the early morning hours of January 20, 2008. The suspect may be a resident of the neighborhood immediately west of the University of Nevada campus and/or may have intimate knowledge of the area. For reference, the three crimes in question occurred on the following dates and times: November 13, 2007 – 5:40 p.m., December 16, 2007 – 2:00 a.m., January 19, 2008 4:00 a.m., and January 20, 2008 – 4:30 a.m. Because of the nature of the crimes, please note that the information, e.g., height or weight descriptions, might not be completely accurate. Any information, no matter how seemingly insignificant, should be brought to our attention, including abrupt and noticeable changes in the behavior of a person that could be considered a suspect.
Suspect: White male, approximately 28 - 40 years, long face with a square chin, taller than 5’6” but not excessively so, very strong but not with a significantly muscular build, a belly that was described as not excessively large and firm but not flabby, an “innie” belly button, shaved pubic region, a light covering of hair on his arms, no jewelry or a watch, facial hair about a quarter to a half an inch long below his chin and was soft and not prickly as stubble normally is, unknown if he had a mustache, brown head hair of undetermined style, normal speech with no accent or regional dialect, no smoker’s breath, no alcohol, no bad breath, no cologne or after-shave.
Just trying to help spread the word, so please digg the story.

I have never been a big fan of Tom Cruise or Scientology but you have to love his conviction even if it seems so misguided. Total brainwashed into the teachings of L. Ron Hubbard. This video is a promo for the Church of Scientology with the music from Mission Impossible.
Based on what he is saying in this clip, if you can make it through the entire thing, maybe you will want to sign up or to be very afraid. I think it’s his best role yet.
All cults and religions sound alike to me, just which one will people latch onto. Feel free to sound off.
Since the mauling of the three on Christmas day the San Fransisco has been trying to upgrade all of their enclosures.
That to me sounds good, but not having control over the animals in the enclosure, especially the dangerous ones, sounds a little scary. Wouldn’t it make more sense to shut down the zoo for the repairs, or completely block off certain parts? Safety of their customers should be the highest priority. Either way, the having a snow leopard almost escape its little cage and a polar bear having to be darted doesn’t sound safe to me.
A nearly 100-pound snow leopard managed to rip a 4-inch hole in its wire mesh cage Thursday afternoon and got part of its head and paw out, zoo officials said. The zookeeper could have been harmed if she had not secured the cage, but visitors were never threatened because the cage was in a larger, secured enclosure, zoo spokesman Sam Singer said.
Go read a bit more here.
