Buy.com’s Horrible Shipping Methods
by: Sarah

buy.comThis Christmas I decided to shop Online, for fear of the huge public crazily scampering about grabbing off the shelves. My mistake was shopping with one company who does not take security of deliveries serious enough.

Normal packaging to send anything is a plain box, usually brown. Well, Buy.com’s mistake was to send my package in the original box, no outer box to conceal the contents.

I am shocked to see the relaxed measure towards the security of my package. The contents of this package were not cheap’ it should have required a signature since I paid over $100 for it. The package also should have been disguised in a normal brown box.

Thanks to Buy.com, my Christmas is ruined. The person who happened to get the package from my porch was the gift recipient. Obviously, this is not Christmas; otherwise, it would not have been as bad. Thank you Buy.com, I really hope someone ruins your surprise.

Since receiving my package, I have since contacted Buy.com and now awaiting a response.

Update:

So I was looking for others who have had problems with Buy.com in the past.  A guy over at his blog had posted about never receiving his package.  Read that article here.  Another guy just posted a real short blurb about Buy.com and the comments on his blog are from people frustrated with Buy.com’s methods.

  1. This company sucks big time. After not getting my Buy.com package,UPS gave me the “shipper’s” phone number, which turned out to be Walmart… I guess Amazon and Ebay remains the online shopper’s only resort.

At least you got your package. Mine shipped too late even though it was ordered before the Xmas deadline. :(

I also got screwed by buy.com. They claim the shipping company delivered the package to my address but I never saw it and there is someone here all the time. I filed a claim with them a got told it was delivered, claim denied. Now I’m out 144.99 and they won’t tell me who the shipping company actually was. I guess thats what they call “free budget shipping” because you don’t actually get it.

Tiffany, that sucks.. I do not think I will be purchasing from Buy.com again. After all the horror stories I have heard, it seems the company is a little sleazy.

and Steve, wow. That is insane. Buy.com’s shipping is ridiculous. I believe that not receiving a package of that price is their fault. Buy.com does not require a signature on packages… and they should!
Plus, they ship it in the original box, that is so unsafe.

    screw buy.com!

My buy.com was ordered with 2nd day delivery but was sent ground. Arrived on Dec. 29th. I spent Christmas Eve shopping for replacement gifts since the ones I ordered weren’t arriving on time. Buy.com told me to contact the shipper, it wasn’t their fault it was shipped wrong. Last time I order from them!

Bummer — was this the roomba? I got it too but guess they didn’t figure it was going to be a prezzie for anyone.

guess I’ve been lucky with Buy.com because I’ve never had issues with them over the years and shop there a lot. Severely doubt Walmart would ship anything for Buy.com — sworn discount enemies but you never know.

If something doesn’t arrive, call your credit card issuer. I’ve been told that most credit card companies will take the position that it’s the shipper’s responsibility to get the package into your hands and the shipper must be able to prove it. If you say you didn’t get it, I understand that most credit card companies will take your side and not charge your card.
