160 arrested for anti-war protest

Anti-War protestThe approximately 100,000 protesters gathered at the White House and marched to the Capitol. The protesters laid down on Capitol lawn to show their support for fallen soldiers.

The protesters carried signs saying “Support our troops. End this war” and “End the war now!” They also had signs asking for Bush’s impeachment.

The arrests did not start until some of the protesters jumped the waist high barricade on to Capitol steps. Most of the arrests were done in a civil manner, but the protesters did not enjoy when the police pushed them backward with large shields.
Better shields than big fire hoses, tasers and mace? Although a couple of people had a shower of chemical sprays.
