This goes in the WTF category. When I lived in Kansas City, I got to go to a few games and the crowd was “energized” but not out of control. The standing up fans was not an issue at all.
Unless something happened in the last 3 years, I really don’t see what the problem is that needs a code-of-conduct. This is not tennis, it’s American Football.
Even better, they are using the stealthy technology of text-tattle on “Fan Code of Conduct”. So you can enjoy the game and rat on anyone that breaks the code. Now that screams sportsmanship and something the fans will love to embrace.
Next they will ask if you believe in evolution before entering the stadium…come on KC Chiefs, let the fans stay standing but textdrunk the bad seeds.

Improv Everywhere worked with the league commissioner to get the kids’ names and access to the field to set up their equipment for the game later that day. NBC Sports also worked along side the team of improv actors to get the Jumbotron and the Goodyear blimp.
How great, such a heart warming experience.

FINAL SCORE 75-68 ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!
I have spent the last two hours watching an awesome game. Kansas versus Memphis in the NCAA Final Four Championship!
Congratulations Kansas for a spectacular game!
I was starting to bum out towards the end, but with seconds on the clock KU pulls their game back together and throws the game into overtime at 63-63. I can’t even imagine Lawrence right now, hell, even people here are screaming as the final seconds of the game came to an end.
Kansas has not won the Final Four Championship since 1988 and before that 1952, so this is a huge win for the Jayhawks!

Sorry I haven’t updated, been in the middle of a move. I just wanted to say, CONGRATULATIONS to the Kansas Jayhawks for their fantastic win today. I happened to catch their game while I unpacked.
For those who don’t know, the Jayhawks have not gotten near the final four since Bill Self took over for Roy Williams. And today the Jayhawks proved themselves better than their prior coach… Mr. Roy Williams, hah, yeah they kicked butt versus North Carolina. Let’s hope that they kick butt in the game versus Memphis on April 7th! I’ll be watching.

I watched a tiring seven minute long video on MSN today about the Vogue magazine cover. I learned a few things, Vogue has been around for over 100 years, that LeBron James is the first black man to grace the cover and there were only 4 black women prior to him. The cover is controversial now due to the fact that some people, bloggers, are comparing the image to a King Kong photo of a gorilla holding a damsel in distress.
So that whole business with LeBron James and the King Kongish photo with the beautiful super model Gisele on the cover of Vogue is completely asinine. The argument of the bloggers out there is that the image just caters to the stereotypes against blacks. Pfft, who thinks about that when they look at the cover of a very famous athlete and a beautiful woman? He is simply doing what he does best, holding a beautiful woman, dribbling a basketball and showing some excitement. So for those out there who think otherwise you sound completely ignorant. Have a nice day.
Love the photo Vogue, A+ LeBron and Gisele.

The Suns have opened up two new locations on their Virtual Locker Room, the Players Lounge and the Training Room.
I went straight for the Training Room and at first glance it seemed O.K. The loading for everything is a bit quicker than before, but still is unappealing for people who just came to check it out. When you enter the Training Room you first hear Sean Marks say “I can’t feel my feet” as he sits in an ice bath. If you go to the right you get to watch Dan Majerle ride stationary bike.
After the Training Room I hit up the Players Lounge and played some billiards with Shaq, or rather just clicked the table and it did its little flash thing. Over on the computer the Suns Dancers have a solitaire game, but it isn’t like normal solitaire, it lets you put red on red and black on black, so it is super easy and super boring. Go click on the TV and play a frogger-style Gorilla game.
Overall the site is slow, and boring. Check it out for yourself, but I do not believe it is worth the wait involved. The majority of the slowness comes from the lame green screen’s that the players do, which all pretty much lagged out when I went to the site.

Kevin Johnson, ex-Phoenix Suns player, is running for Mayor. Johnson has spent the years after his retire from basketball working on developing the low-economy Sacramento neighborhood that he grew up in.
I don’t believe this is the same case as the Schwarzenegger thing since he has invested so much time and money on developing the community. But I do believe he will get more votes than his opponent, Heather Fargo, “who has governed the capital city as it has slid into a deep real estate slump.”
“We need a change in the city and I believe we need a change now,” Johnson said. “As I went out the last month and talked to people around the city, folks have said to me they believe city government is nonresponsive, tired, uninspired and bureaucratic. They want something different in Sacramento. (They’re) clamoring for change.”
The former Phoenix guard’s nonprofit community development corporation, St. HOPE, transformed the failing Sacramento High School into a successful charter school.
St. HOPE also developed the 40 Acres Art Gallery and Cultural Center, with a book store, lofts and Starbucks, in the commercial heart of Oak Park.
But, he does have his faults. Don’t let his success turn you into a glaze-eyed zombie who runs out and votes for him immediately. Apparently Johnson failed to keep up other run-down properties he bought with an eye toward redeveloping them.
Johnson was forced to issue a public apology after The Sacramento Bee ran a story that said half his group’s 37 Oak Park properties had been cited for code violations over a 10-year period. Vacant lots had been left fallow and had become filled with garbage.
Johnson has since moved to clean up the properties and said he would press ahead with his redevelopment plans by bringing a Fresh & Easy market to a key Oak Park intersection.
