Speaking as a daily Mac user myself, kudos to this lovely young woman Tonya who has completely captured the ethos and spirit of the average Mac user. Mac users can be dorky, too, haters!
To be quite honest though, I am a daily Mac user and the first thing that came to mind is, “how obnoxious it is for other Mac users to beat that stereotype.” I take my Mac nearly everywhere, but I definitely don’t act like an ass in the process. Granted, my Mac is better than the Windows options, but that is my opinion. I cannot stand those Mac users who think they are higher than thou just because they have a Mac. On top of that, who wants to be known for being dorky?

It is rare that I pay any attention to Engadget’s reviews on products, but this one made me laugh. I was not sure what Wow-Pen, the makers of the Joy Mouse, were thinking when they designed this. It either looks like: the more PG version, a hand about to beat you in thumb wrestling, or the more adult version, tiny but fat dildo.
I realize that Joy Mouse could be for joystick, but the fact that it is called the Joy Mouse and has that design just does not pair right.
Read over at Engadget what they had to say
It’s strange how “ergonomic” devices rarely look like they’d be comfortable to use. Such is the case with the Wow-Pen Joy, a new mouse that conforms to the hand like a pen would, apparently making your computing experience a little less tough on the wrists.
Apple’s MBA flopped throughout most of the intelligent gadget community, not because it is a horrible product, but because it just lacks everything the competition is coming out with.
But hey, someone had to go first and figure out the flaws for the rest of the notebooks to follow. Thank you Apple for being innovative, but let’s thank the others for giving consumers what they want and need.
A sneak peek at Levono’s new ThinkPad X300, which also fits in a neat little envelope, but it also has more features than the MBA. X300 is kind enough to include a removable battery [gasp!], three USB ports [never thought I would wish for more], WiFi, an integrated Ethernet jack and optional GPS/WWAN.
Apple’s MacBook Air SUCKS
Toshiba, MacBook Air’s rival

I was just looking around the Internet when I came across the new Toshiba laptop. It is said to be thinner and lighter than the Apple counterpart, but the price is not. The Portégé R700 is the name of the new one, and I have to say, people are going nuts over it, and not in a good way.
Naturally people pick things apart, especially technology stuff, no body wants to buy something without the geeks backing it up first.
People think that the MacBook Air [MBA] is simply a glorified Eee PC, but at least Apple has the decency to use nice silver aluminum, not cheap plastic like the R700.
The R500 will represent the top of Toshiba’s UMPC range. Two versions will be available including one, the 11J with 64GB of SSD and no optical drive, which is clearly looking for a confrontation with the Mac Book Air!
No matter what Mister Jobs says, Toshiba claims to have the thinnest and lightest laptop in the world (779g and 25.5mm).
The specifications include: WiFi, BlueTooth, 3G+/HSDPA, Toshiba Easy Guard for safety…

Here is the advert for their ultra-slim, ultra-portable but ultra-lame. If you just look at the notebook then it appears to be awesome, but if you look between the lines you’ll see that it really isn’t all that its cracked up to be.
The new notebook is nearly $1,800 for a basic MacBook Air, which seems a little high for the specs. Is the idea to get the most money for the least amount of power? All you are paying for is the wedge-shaped device that, “weighs about 3 pounds, and sports a thickness of 0.16-0.76 inches. It’s 12.8 inches wide and 8.95 inches deep.”
I mean, there are neat things involved in the whole MacBook Air like the built-in iSight webcam, a full sized backlit MacBook-style black keyboard, an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness, and a trackpad that recognizes multi-touch gestures, like on the iPhone or iPod touch. But… It lacks the power that even the basic model of the MacBook includes in their machine. They also did not include an internal optical drive, but I suppose that Apple covers up that short coming by offering a $99 USB 2.0-based add-on SuperDrive.
Overall, not impressed with their new ‘innovative’ notebook.
Not convinced? Check out a point-by-point comparison prooving the suckage.

The XPS M1730 World of Warcraft Edition is a fully equipped for battle. The system is emblazoned with custom World of Warcraft artwork, inside and out, that leaves no question as to purpose - pure, unadulterated gaming action. Exclusive rare bonus items and a World of Warcraft backpack filled to the brim with game-themed extras are also part of the unique experience.
In the videos, Randydeluxe Jordan unboxes this sleek machine. It seems that Randydeluxe is more excited about the interior of the box being a glossy black than the actual contents. He shows great enthusiasm for the packaging rather than the laptop itself. If it were me unwrapping the box I probably would be like the kids who opened the .
Besides the specs on the machine, the coolest part I thought was the tiny LCD GamePanelTM by Logitech that allows you to track your stats.
I’m sure this is on many of the dedicated WoW fan’s Christmas lists this year… I hope Santa has the money to bring everyone those.

I read an article on CNN about recycling old technology. I was shocked to read that everything from televisions to cellphones are shipped to China, Nigeria and India. Where they use hammers and blow torches to extract the metal from our techno trash, polluting our environment with deadly chemicals.
Many activists believe the answer lies in requiring electronics makers to take back and recycle their own products. Such laws would encourage manufacturers to make products that are easier to recycle and contain fewer dangerous chemicals, they say.
Eight states, including five this year, have passed such laws, and companies such as Apple, Dell, Hewlett-Packard and Sony now take back their products at no charge. Some require consumers to mail in their old gear, while others have drop-off centers. HP says it also now designs its equipment with fewer toxic materials and has made it easier to recycle.
Jim Puckett of the Basel Action Network says it well, “it is being recycled, but it’s being recycled in the most horrific way you can imagine.” Then he says, “We’re preserving our own environment, but contaminating the rest of the world.”
Go check out this article, it isn’t just for those who are die hard environmentalists.
Apple is to release the new Macintosh operating system, Leopard, on October 26th. The release of Leopard OS X was delayed to make sure that the iPhone was released on time. With the new operating system comes 300 new features. Even with all of the new features, the previous Apple users will still be able to adapt to the new OS. “Boot camp” is one of the new features, although this feature was introduced previously for testing in their Intel-based systems. “Boot camp” allows you to install Microsoft’s Windows to your Macintosh. Now with “boot camp” being on all the new systems it opens the market up to Windows users.
Mac revenues have hit record highs for the past year, and Apple’s share of the PC market has grown. Analysts expect Apple’s strategy of introducing products that work with Microsoft’s Windows software to further boost computer sales.

Here is another Kat Von D video wallpaper. This time I used an image background and dropped the video into it so the quality should be better full screen.
