Yahoo has launched their new site to a more targeted audience. Yahoo hopes to appeal to the approximately 40 million women ages 25 to 54 that use Yahoo monthly.
Yahoo thinks their categories will appeal to the masses, but when they touch on everything of course they don’t leave much room for anything else.
They cover , for those who wish to remove the zits and the cellulite in one miracle cream. I hate to break it to your fat lazy ass, but eating bon-bons while you smoke a pack of Camel Lights does not help your cellulite issue. Get off your butt and do some work, jog or use the ellipticals you bought last year when you were hopeful, it doesn’t matter, working out is good for you, do it.
, because most people consult the internet before they ask a doctor what is right. is another one of their categories since everyone needs to pry into the celebrities lives. goes along side the doctor thing, people would rather than ask their mother or mother-in-law. is a huge target group, women in general are either sad, happy, happy in love, in a bad relationship, having sex, loving sex, hating their sex lives and want better ones… so either way you turn, Love and Sex is the way to go. , for those who want to make a quick buck, save their cash for that Bermuda trip or just hate their job. and are a couple of goodies, I always like new recipes and ways to organize better, even if I don’t. is bogus, but people believe that and love it. Ah yes, , one category that will actually be interesting. Speak Up is their community section, where people can voice their opinion, much like I do here.

Like Microsoft or not, Bill Gates has given billions to help others and exits with a sense of humor. What more could you ask for…CEO’s take note. Make a shit load of money, give it back and be willing to make fun of yourself. Found on TMZ of all places, from CES. Wish I was there.

Who doesn’t love Chuck Norris, he is possibly the coolest icon ever.
Chuck Norris has been in the news recently for being a supporter of Mike Huckabee, video , and his recent lawsuit with Penguin Publishers.
Norris is suing Penguin Publishers for unfairly exploiting his name. They published the book The Truth About Chuck Norris: 400 facts about the World’s Greatest Human back in November. Norris is upset because he thinks the comical book is misleading towards its readers, some of the ‘facts’ from the book portray Norris as engaged in illegal activities. Other ‘facts’ in the book are just racist and lewd, I can see why Chuck Norris would be upset about this book. But in all reality, the book is just in good fun. Chuck Norris could never make truth to any of those so called facts in the book, Chuck Norris is my homeboy.
The book capitalizes on “mythical facts” that have been circulating on the Internet since 2005 that poke fun at Norris’ tough-guy image and super-human abilities, the suit said.
It includes such humorous “facts” as “Chuck Norris’s tears cure cancer. Too bad he has never cried” and “Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits,” the suit said, as well as “Chuck Norris can charge a cell phone by rubbing it against his beard.”

Check out more Chuck Norris facts here.
My favorite Chuck fact: “Chuck Norris is currently suing NBC, claiming Law and Order are trademarked names for his left and right legs.”

I not really sure what to make of this story written by Kevin Kelleher.
If you have ever seen our other Apple posts, you know that we are not lovers of all things Apple. Love some of the product design, interface design and some of the marketing (not the I’m a Mac…).
So take this post anyway you want, I just found it to be an interesting view. A segment of the GigaOM post below:
Pop quiz: Rank these four companies, listed alphabetically, in order of their stock performance over the past five years. (Okay, it’s sort-of a trick question, because Google went public less than three years ago, but bear with me.)
- Apple
- Amazon.com
- Autodesk
The answers, and the reason for bringing all this up, are below the jump.
It’s probably not a surprise to find Apple on top. But consider: The second best-performing stock of the group - Autodesk, hailed not long ago as a major tech turnaround - has gained only a bit more than half as much ground as Apple. And Autodesk is up 600%. Google is further back with a 400% gain; while Amazon, this year’s buzzboy, lags slightly behind. .: FULL ARTICILE :.
So I followed the link from our “Sponsor”, currently Business Week Small Network Blog, and saw something well worth reading about.
Of all things, a successful site for Artisans. Etsy. We have bought from the site and was very impressed with the site and the delivered items.
This is one of those great stories that even big business should take note of.
Here is a little bit of what you will find :
To observers, Etsy fits the checklist for the second-wave dot-com success story almost perfectly. Cool offices? Check. Trio of twentysomething founders? Check. User-generated content? Check. Snowballing word-of-mouth? Check. Venture capital funding? Check. (VC firm Union Square Ventures helped raise about $1 million in two rounds.) And—perhaps less typical of a Web startup—Etsy is actually making money. Just a few days shy of its second anniversary, the site has grown to a community of more than 250,000 registered members and 50,000 sellers, and is expanding daily. By the fall, the team expects Etsy to be completely in the black.
Here is a previous post we did on Etsy: Etsy: Anatomica Red Heart Necklace
Check this one out. It’s a huge part of pop culture now and was a massive opportunity in the early 80’s.
This pop culture way of getting the word out (yes, infomercials) does work. Blue Blockers is a Billion dollar company.
We have posted a bunch of stuff lately about online video contests and the rewards of doing so. The VP of Pizza from Pizza Hut has been an interesting one to watch.
I can’t say I watched all of the submitted videos but I watched enough. I was surprised by a few of them and they actually picked a couple that I think are pretty good.
Check them out and vote: one of these guys gets $25,000, pizza for a year and a company car for 3 months.
