Nike Football (Soccer) Commercial for Euro2008
by: DS

This is a great commercial. This is the shorter version, you can see the longer version below from the YouTube Nike Soccer site.

The commercial is directed by Guy Ritchie and the music is Eagles of Death Metal’s “Don’t Speak”.

Here is the longer version:

AT&T’s you’re a dillweed commercial
by: Sarah

AT&T always has pretty decent commercials, I especially like the father searching for his absent daughter at make-out point.  I love the irony of him “singing” Motorhead’s Ace of Spades while he misses the calls from his buddy trying to offer him Motorhead tickets, what a dillweed.  Not much else to say about this one really, so enjoy the spot I’m sure there will be others.

I must tell you that SEX coming back is a huge surprise and a welcome one.

We posted about So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD from here on out) a few times from previous seasons so we will try and keep up during the auditions anyway. SEX has it going on and we should all be proud of his moves and passion. Pump up the jams SEX, pump them up.

David Cook does a Guitar Hero commercial
by: Sarah

This is for all you die-hard Cook fans out there in Kansas City, and whoever else likes him too.

I will admit though, his Risky Business Guitar Hero commercial was way better than Archuleta’s.  David Cook looked way better in the get up, and it actually made me laugh.

It doesn’t make me like him more, just makes me like the commercial.  Good Luck Cook.

David Cook is the big winner on American Idol
by: Sarah

Not a big fan of the show, but I knew that Cook would win.  I mean honestly, when it came down to the Davids it was obvious who was going to come out ahead… The older guy who actually has something to bring to the plate.  The little kid, I mean Archuleta, will probably just end up like Clay Aikan and Taylor Hicks, on Broadway singing his little heart out waiting for the big time.  One day Archuleta you’ll be tall enough to ride that roller coaster.

American Idol is really only good for one thing, the auditions… I love the goobers that show up on there, like Renaldo Lapuz.  I’ll admit, I did watch the final show this year… But that is because I had a friend over who was dying to see “Cook’s sexiness” in her words.  Why do people go all insane for those singers?  It’s like Kansas University won the championship all over again.  People are out there partying for Cook’s big win.  Why?

Whatever, the better MAN won and that is all that matters.  Break a leg Archuleta!

P.S.  Whoa, Simon apologized?  What is this world coming to?!

David Cooke from American Idol hits up the Kansas City area
by: Sarah

Oh boy oh boy!! Who went to his concert? Not me, I was working, though my boss and I were thinking of closing shop. To be honest though, I don’t watch American Idol, I don’t have the patience or the time, except for auditions and the funny bits at the end. But David Cooke certainly is a good singer.  He just spent his time back in Kansas City riding in limos, singing at free concerts and enjoying a parade in his honor.

Gotta love that girl who is bawling as he signs her piece of poster board.  I just don’t understand the emotions behind the screaming and tears of die hard fans.  I only enjoy it because that person looks completely ridiculous.

Seattle news report with tons of insight in the technology of the near future
by: Sarah

Wow, that is quite the video there. This reports on Chrysler’s offer to cap gas prices, which have skyrocketed to a whopping $3.63 in my area recently, to $2.99 a gallon. Of course they have their stipulations, but who doesn’t.

Microsoft has signed a world wide deal with Kia and Hyundai so their customers will have the ability to use voice commands to control a number of different features with the use of their in-car software. For already is in the contract with Microsoft, but theirs will expire in November.

T-mobile has already launched their 3G network in New York, but now they have announced that Seattle is the next lucky city to get their 4x faster download speed. The new network launch will take place this fall, so get ready you Seattleites.

I don’t know many Zune people, but there are some out there, and this should excite them. Microsoft Zune fans will soon have the ability to download popular t.v. shows directly to their Zune!! At $1.99 each you can get shows like South Park, Battle Star Galactica, Heroes and my favorite The Office.

Webby Awards took place and guess who are the winners! That is correct, buzz travels fast, but Colbert is the Webby Person of the Year for connecting to his fans using the Internet. Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas won Webby Artist of the Year for his music video supporting Barack Obama. A few others are

Meatloaf’s Paradise by the Dashboard Light altered for AT&T
by: Sarah

Paradise by the GoPhone Light

AT&T Cingular used to advertise their prepaid wireless phone plan, the GoPhone.

Why is it that AT&T sucks, but their commercials rock? I was less-than-blessed with AT&T’s internet and cable service and hated it. Luckily I’m out of that situation now, and I have less problems with internet connection loss. AT&T cannot seem to keep their internet connection going, but how is their dropped calls? They advertise the “less dropped calls than our competitors” bit, but do they actually drop less calls? I only drop like 5 calls a year on T-Mobile, tell me AT&T users, how many calls do your drop?

Here is an older AT&T commercial that we posted back in August, Cingular AT&T Dropped Calls | Meat Dept., but still is popular today. So rock on Meatloaf’s AT&T Paradise by the GoPhone Light.

Derek Paravicini - Extremely talented pianist with a mental disability
by: Sarah

I just got linked to a about , an extremely talented pianist with two huge monkeys on his back.   Derek Paravicini is blind and severely mentally disabled, but that does not stop him from creating beautiful harmony with a piano.

Adam Ockelford, his teacher, has been working with Derek since he was a child to better his understanding of music.  Thing is though, Derek really doesn’t need a tutor, he is able to understand a different side, a true side to the music.  He can take two forms and transform it into one beautiful song.  The 60 Minutes interviewer asked Derek to take Beethoven’s “Für Elise” and combine it with Mozart’s style and it turned out beautifully.

Derek is extremely inspiring, extremely bad ass.  Love it.
