I don’t know much at all about baseball but I know the name Derek Jeter and a few of the steroid stars in media lately (not saying Derek is one of them before I get a bunch of comments).

Besides that, I don’t know much about the game but I do know that this is a very cool commercial for G2 with Derek Jeter that you can appreciate regardless of what sport you love.

L.A. California introduces the new ordinary looking PVM’s or Prescription Vending Machines.  I saw an article on this the other day, it’s an interesting concept.

Person walks up to machine, punches button and drugs fall out.  Now I say drugs, I don’t mean it has crack or those kinds of drugs, it does contain medical marijuana though.

Have no fear, the machine is guarded by security, you have to have the special key card to start the transaction and a camera photographs you as you are purchasing your scripts.

The drugs range from anywhere from painkillers to Viagra… So line up, script drug buying just got easier.

Yes, it is possible to sue your drug dealer now just in case anyone wondered.

I read on BoingBoing about this 23 year-old woman who sued her drug dealer for negligence after purchasing crystal methamphetamine from her life long friend Clinton Davey.  Sandra Bergen suffered a heart attack and spent eleven days in a coma after OD’ing on the drug.

Bergen is seeking $50,000 in compensation, and the judge is still debating how much she should receive from the dealer.

I can’t believe she won, she voluntarily took the drug, knowing what could happen, then she has the nerve to blame all the ill-effects on her drug dealer.

This vaccine is for those who have a desire to quit using the drug, and should be very useful in stopping the addiction. Dr. Tom Kosten, a psychiatry professor is being assisted in the research on the vaccine by his wife Therese, a psychologist and neuroscientist.

The vaccine is there for when people relapse, which many often do, that they don’t get the same sensation as before. In other words, it blocks the high.

The immune system — unable to recognize cocaine and other drug molecules because they are so small — can’t make antibodies to attack them.

To help the immune system distinguish the drug, Kosten attached inactivated cocaine to the outside of inactivated cholera proteins.

In response, the immune system not only makes antibodies to the combination, which is harmless, but also recognizes the potent naked drug when it’s ingested. The antibodies bind to the cocaine and prevent it from reaching the brain, where it normally would generate the highs that are so addictive.

Todd Marinovich, former football star, was caught skateboarding on the O.C. Newport Pier.  Not only was he caught skateboarding [which is strictly prohibited] but he was caught hiding almost a gram of methamphetamine, a spoon and a syringe in his guitar case.

This is not his first offense…  He has had nine other drug-related offenses in Orange County. 

Marinovich was on probation when this last offense landed him in court yesterday morning.  Marinovich will remain in custody until the September 6^th hearing.
